A developing building services design consultancy with two offices in the north of England, their Harrogate office is well established and set for growth over the next three years thanks to experienced management, being cash rich and having a diverse client base in the public and private sector.
One of the first positions where they are seeking to develop the existing team is for a Sustainability Consultant, Building Modeller or Thermal Modeller - the role is the same, but you may know the post by any of those titles!
You will be working with a very experienced modeller who is keen to help you develop your knowledge and skills as well as expand the range of areas of expertise that you have by sector and discipline.
As such you will be getting involved with all aspects of building modelling including daylighting, compliance checking and design development to resolve issues such as overheating etc. while also providing advice to colleagues.
Ideally you will be qualified to level 5 using IES at present, but support is on hand to help you achieve that, or renew your qualification if you are returning to the industry. Similarly, it will be useful if you are a degree holder in either building services or a related subject dealing with the use of energy in buildings.
This goes hand in hand with you having worked in the industry for long enough to be proficient and comfortable at producing EPC's and SBEM's without supervision. You should also be happy to engage with engineers regarding their designs and the way that any required changes you identify can bring cost, comfort or energy benefits to the client and end building user.
Their package includes 25 days holiday, company pension scheme and tax friendly benefits such as childcare vouchers etc. while their office is just a few minutes walk from Harrogate train station making it easily accessible by public transport, close to car parking and of course well placed for for doing more at lunch time than being sat at your desk.
