Are you an experienced maintenance supervisor? Make the move to make a difference to the upkeep and environment of a service caring for people with learning disabilities, while managing your own team.
You will be working alongside contractors offering support and coordinating day-to-day tasks on site. You will be responsible for ensuring all relevant paperwork and tools are checked and fit for purpose. It is essential you are able to confidentially manager people and ensure the buildings, facilities, and equipment's are maintained and functioning at all times.
Organise and implement a planned preventative maintenance schedule to optimise standards, availability and performance of hospital plant, equipment, buildings and grounds.
Ensure adequate records of the planned maintenance and test results, eg. Equipment logs, fire alarm logs.
Manage the operation, prioritising a curative maintenance and repair service for hospital plant, equipment, buildings and grounds.
Ensure an adequate stock of materials and spare parts are held to meet routine and emergency needs.
Maintain an out of hour's on-call emergency maintenance, transport and ground maintenance.
Co-ordinate the installation and maintenance of hospital communication systems.
Manage the effective and efficient provision and operation of the hospital utilities
Ensure that the out of hours cover and on call system are effectively manned.
The management of projects as directed through the HSM and Regional maintenance Manager.
Liaise with external contracts to provide a safe, cost-effective service
Manage the operation of the hospital central pool vehicles, cost effectively and efficiently to best meet the transport requirements.
Administer a procedure for recording vehicle usage that includes the reporting of accidents.
Ensure that vehicles are roadworthy and at all times meet legal requirements, the safety of drivers and passengers being of paramount importance.
Produce and agree an annual maintenance budget and ensure agreed costs are monitored against budget.
To act as the hospital's principal purchasing authority for building, decorating and maintenance materials, communication equipment and ward electrical equipment.
To be successful in this role, you'll need
City and Guilds, and/or ONC/HND In relevant technical qualification.
Full driving licence .
ISOH/NEBOSH Health and Safety.
Supervisory and Management Certification.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Administrative, planning and organisational skills.
In-depth knowledge of plant and ancillary equipment.
Supervisory and training skills.
Knowledge of Health and safety regulations.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide person-centered care for men with a learning disability and/or Autism. Gaining experience across low secure and locked rehabilitation environments to support better health and greater independence.
You'll work in environments ranging from small village cottages, where independent living skills can be developed, to 8 bedded units that facilitate the development of daily living skills. The service values positive risk-taking opportunities within a context of robust risk assessment and management to ensure those we support are kept safe.
The Woodhouse is located near Cheadle in Staffordshire, which is commutable from Derby, Stoke-on-Trent, Uttoxeter and surrounding areas.
