Mechanical Engineer
Division: Maritime (Edinburgh)

Role:
Mechanical Engineer required for Maritime and Defence based business. The role is based in Edinburgh and the suitable candidate shall be capable of successfully delivering consultancy services to current clients and also developing new work.

The suitable candidate shall ideally be a Chartered Engineer and shall have experience of inspection/auditing, specification, design, and management of mechanical equipment and infrastructure for the defence and maritime sectors.

Whilst the role is based in Edinburgh there will be a requirement to be flexible and able to work elsewhere in the UK and overseas for short periods as required.

Responsibilities:
• To support Maritime engineering projects in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle offices (primarily.)
•POL inspections and production of condition survey reports.
•Preparation of pipeline designs, pumping systems and general site services.
•M&E support to naval and maritime projects being delivered by other offices.
•Carry out asset investigations, surveys and inspections.
•Prepare design calculations, drawings, studies, specifications and reports.
•Assist in project control and site supervision as required.
•Plan, organise and manage work packages or projects.
•Comply with company’s standards and Quality Management System.
•Share knowledge and expertise.
•Be aware of client needs and focus on client satisfaction.
•Be aware of and manage work around commercial constrains and pressures.
•Communicate and co-operate with colleagues and project team members.
•Assist in the identification of new and relevant opportunities and development towards winning new work.
•Be prepared to seek help from more experience colleagues.
