Signalling Engineer

Location: Birmingham

As a Signalling Design Engineer with my Client, you will be involved in the production of Signalling Design at all GRIP stages. You will be designing a wide variety of signalling technologies and your activities will cover a wide area of signalling from project conception to testing and commissioning.

Key Competencies:
Candidates must hold suitable IRSE licenses (or equivalent) to enable them to carry out production of Concept Design and Engineering Detail/Detailed Design documents, diagrams and other relevant signalling design outputs, Such as Signalling Designer License, 1.1.150C, or equivalent.

Candidates should be willing to work towards attaining suitable IRSE licenses (or equivalent) to enable them to progress within their field.

Required Skills:
· Demonstrable experience of working to the Signalling Design Production process.
· Demonstrable experience of working within Network Rail's GRIP procedures.
· Good understanding of Railway Group and Network Rail Company Standards.
· Up to date knowledge of UK Signalling Principles.
· Competent to produce and production check Concept and Detailed designs.
· Ability to contribute to the delivery of schemes that are affordable, provide best value, and meet programme requirements for time, cost and quality.
· Awareness of RAMS and appreciation of issues regarding construction, staging, testing, commissioning, maintenance and whole-life management of assets.
· Ability to provide design cover during testing and commissioning.
· Understanding inter-disciplinary engineering interfaces
· Environmental awareness and consideration of sustainability throughout the design phase.
· Ability to work to timescales and monitor and log design progress and changes.
