My Client was established in the United Kingdom in the early 19th century and has practiced architecture in various countries throughout the world continuously ever since.
 
Their areas of expertise include architecture, project management, interior design, corporate identity programmes, landscape design and feasibility studies as well as several other related disciplines.
 
They have a broad range of experience of most building types including; commercial and government buildings, schools, colleges and universities, golf clubs and sports related projects, but have a particular speciality in the design of hotel and leisure related projects and are recognized for their work on several prestigious Dubai landmarks.
 
Due to continuous demand for their services and several new projects on the horizon, there is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Senior Interior Designer to join the Dubai office
 
The Role:
You will be an active member of the management structure and will be expected to run projects independently, adhere to agreed standards and provide assistance to the Managing Partner and Contracts Manager(s) to improve the overall performance of the practice and of their individual team.
 
Responsibilities:
Concept design and management of CAD documentation.
Develop a design programme approved by the Practice Manager
Deliver projects on the agreed date, if slippage occurs notify the Contracts Manager(s) immediately and agree a revised programme.
Awareness of local authority regulations and local authority Approvals process where is has an impact on design work.
Participate in the development of the practice.
Provide an annual report on the performance of Architects working on your projects, your own performance and your future to the Managing Partner.
Report accurate project progress, planned and achieved, on a fortnightly basis.
Notify the client of any time and cost implications arising from client initiated changes.
Develop and mentor all staff members reporting to you.
Ensure all correspondence including drawings are reviewed within 24 hours of receipt unless a more urgent response is required.
Ensure all staff reporting to you understand the operational standards and adhere to them.
Ensure all staff reporting to you have the required equipment to perform/fulfil their responsibilities.
Ensure all staff reporting to you feel comfortable about coming to you and discussing their present and future circumstances and development.
Ensure all sub-consultants are performing to accepted standards to allow the required product to be delivered to clients.
Ensure the submission register for each project is up to date and submissions are made on time and returned within the acceptable time frame.
Ensure timesheets of the entire project team are up to date and correct by the end of the working day.
Approve leave in conjunction with the Contracts Manager(s).
 
The Ideal Candidate:
Will have excellent design skills
10 years experience liaising with all aspects of management and coordinating the design of major projects.*
There are several major hotel projects underway as well as office / headquarters for several construction companies so experience working on similar projects is a definite plus.
