My Client has always been at the forefront of the adoption of new construction technology to improve efficiency, provide more rapid execution while ensuring high quality performance.

ROLE:

Responsible for the overall management and coordination of field engineering activities directed towards the review of conceptual and detailed project design, the issue of drawings and documents for construction purposes and technical support to site construction, the preparation of As-Built Drawings.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Act as the functional head of the Engineering Department with overall responsibility for commercial and technical performance, ensuring quality standards and application of established procedures.

 Approve and implement systems, standards, procedures and methodologies to carry out the range of overall engineering services, to the high standard of performance expected in the organization.

 Assign specific tasks to Project Groups, Design Project Coordinators and Project Engineers, ensuring progress within programme and budget.

 Negotiate with Client on design scope to develop final version and coordinate activities with any joint venture partner or sub-contractor.

 Negotiate with Client or joint venture partner, as necessary, and prepare documentation for engineering sub-contracts and claims involving change orders, abortive work and delays.

 Recruit, motivate and develop staff to ensure the function is staffed with individuals of the required caliber and that adequate succession planning and provision for future demand exists.

 Maintain Engineering Policies and Procedures to best meet objectives.



QUALIFICATIONS:

 B. Sc. In Engineering or Architecture

 15 years experience in the engineering field, including design and site construction experience

 High level of commercial, contractual and cost awareness

 Knowledge of AutoCad and Microstation software applications

 Managerial and Leadership capabilities

 High level of negotiating, communication and organising skills
