The client that we’re representing is a leading cost / claims and project management consultancy with offices spanning the globe. Owing to recent expansion in Romania we’ve been asked to identify a Project Director for a major road project in Constana, the oldest town in Romania which sits on the Black Sea and is a bustling port town.

A ring road is being constructed and we have been asked to identify a Project Director to manage the build, which is expected to be 3 years.

Qualifications & skills:

A graduate engineer having at least twenty (20) years of experience on the supervision of road/bridge projects, contract management

• In particular the candidate must possess at least 5 years of experience on Design and Build (as per FIDIC) projects.
• He/she will have a broad international experience (ex own country)
• He/she shall demonstrate that he /she has occupied similar posts on at least three similar road projects with a cumulated value of the works of 450 million Euro

Responsibilities :

• Carry out the duties of the engineer, as described in the civil works contract document
• Manage the consultant’s team
• Elaborate the program of activities of his team
• Check that the commission is carried out in accordance with the Terms of Reference
• Verify and certify the interim and final statements of work
• Produce the periodic reports
• Produce the final reports
• Produce any other reports as required by the Employer
• Inspect the works during the Defects Notification Period and issue the related reports
• Advise the client on any issue likely to affect the financial resources, e.g., variation orders, or the scope of work
• Delegate duties as appropriate to assistants.
