Reporting the CEO, this Muscat based position leads a team of site based environmental managers and staff. The Co-ordinator is responsible for environmental and health safety project budget, permitting compliance relating to the clients projects in the Sultanate of Oman.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Developing environmental and health safety policy consistent with Omani Law and international practice;
• Developing and leading a team of environmental and health safety professionals to work together with the project management group to influence project design;
• Leading negotiations with relevant Ministries and stakeholders to maintain a range of environmental approvals and Licenses;
• Developing and administering the implementation of programs to meet environmental and health safety objectives during the design, construction and operational phases of the Developments within Oman.
The ideal candidate should posses superior communication skills and demonstrated experience as an environmental or health safety team leader.
A minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role in the development or related industry, tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in environmental science, health or engineering, excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate with senior management and Ministry senior officials.
The candidate should possess excellent written and verbal skills in English, with Arabic language a definite advantage.
