We are seeking senior procurement managers for a major mixed use development in Abu Dhabi to work for a Client Contractor JV
You will have proven ability to deliver results with a minimum of 15 years post graduate experience in leading and managing procurement teams on major construction projects with a value of £100 million plus. International procurement experience would be preferred but not essential.
You will be aware that the key responsibilities will include such headings as:
- Developments in the local, national and international supply markets.
- Working relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors
- Vendor management
- To manage, monitor and report on project costs
- Sub-contract documentation
- Oversee the day to day operation of project procurement teams
- Take the lead in subcontractor and supplier negotiations
Key skills will include:
Accomplished management ability, with strong leadership and team working skills
Detailed knowledge of the construction industry with hands on knowledge of prices and contract procedures.
To be able to communicate both orally and in writing in English and be able to prepare and present presentations at all levels.
A detailed knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, service agreements their interpretation and application
Well developed negotiating skills.
An active personality able to work as a key member of the management team
Developed computer skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Technically competent to be able to identify, consider and propose alternative materials/solutions and assess cost effectiveness.
Requirements
- Preferably degree educated in Civil Engineering or materials / commercial management qualification
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- 15 to 20 years post graduate experience. Experience in a similar position in the UAE / Gulf would be an advantage.
