|
To provide engineering solutions to the site and tender teams
Key Objectives of the Job :
Design and Drawings - Assist in preparing buildable and efficient TW schemes to sites construction problems
- Assist in helping the team to find design solutions
- Represent design team in meetings Checking TW designs
- Review drawings prepared by others for suitability Updating department records
- To be responsible for the updating of records Design Cost Implications
- Understand impact of time and cost implications of design decisions and minimize impact were possible
Operational Accountabilities :
- Accountable for the completion of standard or non-standard tasks within own area
- Acts as part of a team to deliver activities which support operational objectives
- Manages a variety of tasks and is able to plan accordingly within the short-term
- Makes decisions within parameters set by manager, using job/specialist experience
- Maybe subject to regular local supervision of progress against results and escalates issues when required
- Interacts with stakeholders around specific work efforts and deliverables
- Supports delivery of Health and Safety policy and standards
- Supervises the activities of others to meet deadlines and quality standards taking account of impact outside area of responsibility
Knowledge and Applied skills :
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the design / consultancy field
• Good knowledge of British Standards for the design of concrete, steel and timber
• Prior knowledge of temporary works design
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Experience of supervising draughtsmen
• Experience in designing manually and by using relevant computer programs (i.e. STAAD & WALLAP)
• In depth knowledge of AutoCAD
• Practical Approach to design and buildability
• Excellent safety knowledge
• Qualified to degree standard in Civil / Structural Engineering
