Project: Hospital project - Education City - Doha, Qatar

Key Duties:

· Serve as the senior Site Representative for all matters related to construction quality assurance and document compliance of mechanical works.
· Monitor the mechanical works for conformance with the provisions of the Contract Documents and the Procedures manual.
· Oversee the review and approval process for all mechanical technical submittals.
· Coordinate and supervise the work of all mechanical activities and operations.
· Liaise with local authorities and ministerial agencies having jurisdiction over the project.
· Receive/action Request for Information (RFI) that apply to mechanical works. RFI’s requiring design feedback will be directed to the Designer for response.
· Review the responses for adequacy.
· Review contractor’s mechanical change order proposals. Prepare recommendations to Resident Engineer for review. If warranted, assist the Planning Dept. in negotiations with contractors regarding changes in contract value or project duration.
· Review contractors’ claims related to mechanical works. Prepare recommendations for claims approval or rejection. Assist the QS team in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules.
· Witness testing and commissioning of the works.
· Approve the contractors’ as-built drawings and O&M manual submittals.
· Assist with the final inspection of the work. Review the adequacy and accuracy of punch lists. Monitor final completion of the work.
· Contractors submittal and procurement schedules, delivery schedules, shop drawings, impact of variations and work on site.
· Will spend a large amount of time on site coordinating the clients Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing requirement with the main contractor in a Client’s supervisory role


Requirements:

· B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum 20 years relevant experience both with Consultants and Contractors.
· Project experience to include large hospitals
· Preference given to those with Gulf Middle East experience.
· Design and Construct experience preferable.
· Should have extensive experience of dealing with on-site problems and planning clients works to avoid any problems.
· Will involve meticulous attention to details in reviewing QA/QC procedures
· Must have detailed working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations to effectively supervise on-site activities.
